Over 100 years of Local, Family owned cave tours

Three people standing in front of a wooden building with a sign that reads 'Fairy Cave'.

In 1921, the Powell family opened, then Fairy Cave, and gave the first tours of this cave to the public. The Powell family thought this caverns huge, beautiful crystal formations would be perfect to inspire people. They knew it would take hard work and be expensive. But they decided all of the work would be worth it if peoples’ hearts were inspired enough by their visit to this cavern to protect other natural wonders. Three generations of Powells served as stewards of this cave. Now three generations of Herschend’s are dedicated to the care of this irreplaceable natural wonder.
